Don't be alarmed if you see a ton of dead fish along (and on) the trail ... apparently this is normal from what people are saying on Reddit. (Birds bring them in and drop them after they have eaten them.) But, seriously, I walked the outer paved loop and we saw easily 30-40 dead fish - some in the grass, some on the actual paved trail, some on the gravel parts next to the trail. One we even saw on the paved path near the playground. It felt kind of creepy but luckily it didn't smell bad or anything.

This review is for the trails in the middle of Seward Park, above the Perimeter Loop: they include the Lost Lake Trail, Fairy Loop Trail, Woodpecker Trail, Sqabeqsad Trail, Erratic Trail and Windfall Trail.
Magical. As soon as you step beyond the sign that reads, “You Are Entering A Fragile Ancient Forest,” you have stepped into another world. Ancient friends that have endured endless storms surround you on all sides and breathe their love and wisdom on you. Listen for the woodpecker hard at work on his/her eponymous trail. Wander, get lost, end up on Erratic Trail, then try to pronounce Sqabeqsad. Sit for a spell in the darkest part with the biggest badass trees. Don’t try to figure out where you are on the post markers (they’re so faded you can’t read ‘em), just get lost. Enjoy the wonder of being among immortals. All paths eventually lead you back to hell anyway.

Outer perimeter in great conditions. No potholes that would affect bicycles or strollers. Minimal puddles on either side of the pavement and easily avoidable. Restrooms along the outer perimeter seem closed but there are 3 port-a-potty units staggered along the way.

Hoping to see some early morning sunrise glow .. this TUE 24jan2023 morning, i went to the Seward Park. ~07:15, ~40s_F, i arrived at the (Beach) parking. i noticed that there were already many vehicles and people - jogging, walking .. Anyway, it wasn't crowded.
i went for a short ~1 mi walk before going to the Beach; had my snacks while waiting for the sunrise .. Unfortunately for me - the sunrise came and went .. but no sunrise glow nor "full view" of Mount Rainier cos of the low clouds.
No matter, i will return another day to try my luck again .. 😊

MON 19dec2022 morning, i "squeezed" in for walk-about before the snow "hits" tonight, and the next day or 2 (??). Low 30s_F, overcast, i was at Seward Park and had a nice relatively solitary walk-about ~3 mi ~1:15 through the lovely green woods and along a short stretch of the beach .. saw some ducks, Canada Geese and Seagulls👍
There were probably (total) ~20+ vehicles parked in the various Parking areas, though i only encountered-(total) ~10 people and 2 dogs during my walk-about. They were courteous and friendly 👍
The Trails were damp (from the recent rain) though its in good condition and well-maintained.
Happy Trails Everyone 😀
