We took the TMT to the K3 trail to hike up to Tiger 2. Early in our hike on the TMT from the High Point trailhead, we went over a bridge (47.518594,-121.981336) that was slightly listing at the east end. I believe this was the the first bridge we crossed on the TMT. Otherwise it was a great day to hike.

8.9 mile loop with roughly 2900’ gain. Cable line up to West Tiger 3,2, then the hut back down on Poo Top to TMT and back to WT3, the clouds cleared for a nice view, section line, cut over to WT3 back to the lot. A few easy logs to step over on TMT it’s a bit brushy. Really quiet all morning started just before 7 done by 10:30 am. Parking was packed when we left. This is a great route for trail running. We’d never been up to the hut and it was a novelty.

TMT through hike from the southern terminus to the High Point trailhead. Started at 8:30a and finished at 4p. Many blowdowns from the Nov 2024 bomb cyclone along the Holder Creek section, but DNR crews have done amazing work here and the trail was in great shape.
The west side of Middle Tiger Mt has been recently logged (good maps here: https://www.issaquahalps.org/articles/2024/6/3/tree-tip-timber-sale-amp-trail-closures), so we detoured down Middle Tiger Trail. Despite the signs saying Middle Tiger is "completely wiped out" and there is "no evidence of a path," we had no trouble. The trail is overgrown, but we didn't need a GPS for navigation.
We followed the Hobart Railroad Grade north until it rejoined the TMT, then continued without issue. Beautiful trillium in many spots. Only encountered six other people the whole day.

Parking lot car crawler (break in) alert!
High Point parking lot was close to half full when I arrived @9:45am this morning, feel quite safe and sound, somehow failed to lock the car (still not sure what really happened). Upon return @2:10pm, thought it’s odd that the car was not locked, stopped at QFC for some shopping, that’s when I realized that the wallet had been totally emptied (cash, credit and debit cards), also missing are the summer hiking hats(?!) from the passenger seats… even there are no broken glasses at the parking lot, someone(s) sure have been stealing at the busy parking lot.

Had a great run exploring Middle Tiger. I arrived East Tiger Trailhead parking lot 8:40am with about 1/3 of the lot full. It was full when I finished at 11:15am with a handful of vehicles parked near the gate and on the road.
I went up West Side Road since most of Iverson Trail is closed, and connected to the small western portion of it that is open, then onto Lower Side Hustle and then the TMT Connector. Continued on TMT, and connected to Middle Tiger Trail, avoiding the sections of both that are closed (see map at https://www.dnr.wa.gov/publications/amp_rec_2025_tmtclosures.pdf).
The trails were all passable, and all trees have been sawed or cleared (thank you crew and volunteers!), with the exception of one bridge (over Holder Creek I think), with a large tree on top of/across the bridge that was fine to scramble over. Summit had partial views due to clouds, but some mountains were visible. All in all, a great trail and outing. 7.25 miles, 1,634 total ascent.
