I wanted to start at the Rainier Trailhead, but it was full when I got there (I suspect local high school students, perhaps.) However, after driving around the block, a spot opened up. I hit the trail around 12:30, and went High School Trail, Gas Line Trail, Bus Trail, Around the Lake Trail, back down the Gas Line Trail to the Wetlands Trail, eventually making my way down the Park Pointe trail, for a total of 6 miles.
The first part was wide and smooth, with golden sun lighting up the leaves and mossy trees. Later, the trail was narrower and full of cobble-type rocks. It was also darker and colder, but still lovely. (When I got back to the car at 3:30, the sun had already set beyond Squak Mountain!) I took advantage of the outhouse at the High Point trailhead, which says it's not maintained daily, but had plenty of toilet paper when I was there. Views of Tradition Lake are spotty, as signs say they are trying to keep it reserved for wildlife (which I respect!) Round Lake was basically a big mud puddle.
Overall, a lovely afternoon in the autumn woods.
Quick walk with a friend before getting tea in Issaquah. We went round the loop a couple times. It seems a very frequented location — the parking lot was mostly full on this cloudy but dry Saturday around 2pm. We saw many people and dogs on the trail. Almost completely flat walk, would be great for little ones.

We arrived at the Tradition Lake TH at 9 and had no trouble finding parking in this large, paved lot. We started our hike by heading to Tradition Lake. Once there, we noticed that the lake's water level was quite low, maybe the lowest we've seen, having hiked this trail often. Not surprising given the dry summer and fall we've had.
Next, we went to see the abandoned bus, a "must see" for anyone hiking this area of Tiger. How did the bus get there??? After that, we decided to hike a number of different trails to get to Round Lake, our second destination. To do that, we hiked to the power lines and took the trail to the left for a while. We then took another trail that goes to the right and would eventually take you to Issaquah HS, although our intent was not to go to the HS. We used that trail to get to Adventure Trail, which is on the right, after hiking for a while. Adventure Trail is a steady uphill climb through very pretty and serene woods. We took the trail quite a ways until it hooked up with Wetlands Trail, which took us eventually to Round Lake. We enjoyed a nice rest and lunch at Round Lake on benches located on one end of the lake.
After lunch, we hooked up with the Bus Trail and took it back to the TH. The trails were all in great shape although there was quite a bit of standing water due to the recent rains. Hiking the trails we did, we logged 4.8 miles and 320' in elevation gain.
Tiger Mt offers a vast array of trails that can take you to many different destinations. The trail system has trails for every skill level, a nice bonus. It afforded us a was a great hike in the woods today.
This trail is noted as accessible...and it mostly is. We encountered two possible problems:
1) On the trail to the lake, there's a bridge crossing with a 3"-4" drop on the lake side of it. My friend's wheelchair has a tie-down pin under it that snagged here. She was able to get free, but we weren't sure if she'd be able to get back up on bridge. We were able to return to trailhead via the Bus Trail, so didn't have to create a mini ramp to get back over that bridge.
2) Several places on the trail have areas of very soft gravel. She was able to get her power chair through it, but it could cause some difficulties if someone slowed down or stopped.

We stitched together a loop of short trails in the Tiger Mountain lowlands for a pleasant 2.5mi hike. The parking lot at the High Point trailhead around 9am was quite full but we managed to get a spot. We started with the Tradition lake trail, connected to the Bus Trail and Wetlands trail and then make our way back through the Swamp trail. It was our first time seeing Round Lake, which is a pretty little lake/pond in the Wetlands trail. There were a fair number of people and dogs but not overly crowded. Our dog had a great time sniffing his way through the trail :)
