Beautiful steep hike. The flowers were in bloom. The lake was gorgeous. Finding the first part of the trail past Camp Handy is a little tricky, but from that point on it is pretty easy to follow. There were a few trees across the trail, but nothing too bad.

How brushy was the trail? Recent trip reports say it's primitive. Also, is there a signed junction for Goat Lake at camp handy? If not, then tell me what to look for.

There are no signs for Goat Lake. There are two places to meet up with the trail. The first is right as you cross the last bridge. Instead of crossing the last bridge before Camp Handy there is a small trail that is not obvious that will eventually connect up with the Goat Lake trail. The other spot is from Camp Handy, find any place to cross the river. Then wind your way back to side of the ravine. The trail is not obvious until you get a couple hundred yards up hill, from that point it is easy to follow.
