Easy drive to the trailhead that any car can manage. The fallen tree near the top half of the hike was cleared, and the entire trail was mud, debris, and bug free. A few spots to sit and bathrooms at the top of the trail.
Poles are a good idea for the down trip, some of the switchbacks are steep and the trail has a light loose top layer. We made it fine without them, but it was a workout.
