Beaver Lake Park — Friday, Aug. 6, 2021

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

The power company is working on the lines today and the trails are blocked off at the dog park end.  I didn't realize that was why it was taped off and ignored the tape and hiked anyway 😬 .  However, now that I know the reason haha, I recommend avoiding this park today because of the power line work.

There are abundant Evergreen blackberries and Himalayan blackberries ripe along the trail.  This trail also has salmonberry, thimbleberry, trailing blackberry, and huckleberries that are now past or mostly past the berry stage.

Beaver Lake personally I consider too leechy and icky to swim in.

This is a very easy, flat trail great for hiking with kids.
