Stopped here for a quick hike after visiting with the Snowy Owl at Sand Point. From the south parking lot, we followed the Ridge Trail up and continued on to the lookout. On the way down, we took the Douglas Fir Trail, which parallels the Ridge Trail.
Access. Paved road.
Conditions. Some slightly muddy spots, and one blowdown on the way up. The tunnel was closed, but you could go over or around it. Maps at major junctions, but plenty of unsigned minor trails.
Crowds. Just a couple of people on the trail and at the lookout. Some of the trails allow dogs off-leash, and most of the dogs were well-behaved.

Can you share some details about the snowy owl sighting? I’d love to see it!

We drove to the southern tip of Sandy Point (on the Lummi Reservation). There were quite a few photographers with large lenses there when we arrived ~1:30pm, hard to miss... According to eBird, the owl was first sighted there yesterday. Good luck!
