Wenatchee Crest Snowshoe (Blewett Pass) — Friday, Jan. 28, 2022

Central Cascades

I got an early start...was the first car in the parking area (open & clear) at 8am...some fog & rather crisp (17F)...the trail is firm packed & crusty with slick patches...I used snowshoes (had forgot my microspikes) & I wanted the conditioning...it was a delightful walk almost frost covered trees for much of the trail (I went 3.3miles out to the junction & then returned)...the fog started to clear just before noon (on the very end of my walk), but I had seen hints of sunlight.  I loved the white trees (impressive frost) & the hints of vistas....I can't wait to come back on a day with views. I felt I was on the trail alone (yeah for early starts)...there were 3 other cars when I left at noon.
