We’ve been putting off doing this hike for years, not sure why. Enjoyed the hike and will be back. Don’t see much point going further than Cliff Camp, only another ~1/3 of a mile past there to the washout and a sketchy trail for footing in a few places. Thought we were the caboose for the day. We had a late start and about 2pm passed a couple that looked to be about 60 heading in around a mile and a half from the TH. No packs or waist packs, no water, nothing but what they were wearing. The lady had a windbreaker and the guy had a 1/4 zip golf shirt. Wished I’d given them some of our extras or even cautioned them on continuing. They asked “how much further” as we passed. Got back to TH and the other car there was out of state plates and a hiking guide book that looked brand new. My wife and I have been wondering all day if they lived. Adding: someone made a feeble attempt to clean up after there dog but failed to carry it out. I’d of preferred they just left the mess.
