I hiked the loop counterclockwise, stopping for lunch at the viewpoint at the end of the abandoned logging road. There were a few minor muddy patches in the morning, which had partly dried up by afternoon. Otherwise, no obstacles. But the amount of fallen trees cleared is impressive. One batch near the turnoff from the TMT to the road is shown in the accompanying picture. But the Traverse trail is lined with them for at least half a mile. Congratulations to whatever crew or crews managed to clear them all.
There were more cars at the trailhead than I've ever seen there, and I encountered close to 50 hikers/runners on the trail, including one group of about a dozen. This trail has apparently been "discovered."
