I've been coming here for 5 years, these aren't the thickest flowers I've seen here, but they are quite good. The balsamroot is fading in the low areas, but there are many thick areas (photo 1 is from the upper Homestead trail). These are all thick right now: lupine, showy phlox, larkspur, large-flower triteleia, and barestem desert parsley. Trails that had thick displays: Homestead (especially the upper half), Burt's, north facing portions of Sage Hills (photo 3), and the connector between the Horse Lake trailhead and the Homestead (photo 2). Showy phlox can be lovely (photo 4).
