I only hiked to the NPS ranger patrol cabin and back. The reason I didn't venture further was that there is a mountain lion warning posted to the cabin. I was solo and there were no other hikers around early this morning (I observed all other vehicles quickly heading up to the Lake Eleanor TH).
I wasn't sure how long ago the notice was posted as it wasn't dated. Bummed to turn back as I had planned to hike this route longer, maybe even reaching Forest Lake. Ultimately, I knew I'd be in a clearer headspace elsewhere. This trail is beautifully maintained and in a very quiet area, I look forward to a return trip at some point in the future.

There was a trip report for Grand Park earlier this summer regarding the Mountain Lion posting and the backpacker it approached, Lake Eleanor is how you access Grand Park from this side, possibly this was posted at the same time to be prudent. You can look back for more details on the encounter.
