After an abrupt ending to my Huckleberry Creek hike, I headed back up the 410 to this dynamic, wonderful trail as my back up plan.
I had hiked it back in late Spring and got somewhat close to Quinn Lake; a stones throw from Lost Lake. Having a late, post-noon start, I wasn't sure if I'd have enough time to get that far, but I decided it's definitely more about the journey today and gave it a shot.
I hit my turnaround point about a half mile shy of my last visit, so I'm saving these lake visits for round three. I think I might as well plan to camp. Possibly a through hike over to Noble Knob and down to Corral Pass.
I saw 13 others, including some SAR that appeared low key training. Past the large camp area just after the second Greenwater Lake, light snow and lots of treemelt begin, gradually getting heavier as you ascend. But it's currently not bad at all (1-2"), yet surely a sign of things to come.
