After seeing a post about Doe Falls, I reviewed the WTA writeup and decided to hike to these falls. I have never been on the Suntop trail since hiking to Suntop would be a 17-mile hike.
I started at the Suntop trailhead by the Ranger airstrip. My hike was 5.9 miles round trip and 1700 feet altitude gain.
Along the way, I noted two other possible ways of hiking to the falls, or even to Suntop. A side forest road meets the trail at about 1 mile from the Suntop trailhead, and the well-maintained forest road meets the trail at about 2 miles. Right now, the road is snow free but does have frost. A photo is posted on my Facebook page (see the link).
I stopped where my GAIA map says the trail ends. I could see a footbridge just ahead of me (see other post from Nov 28). The trail is above the falls, so instead of looking up to see them you actually look a little downward. Right now, the deciduous trees do not have trees blocking the view.
As noted in other posts, there are few chances for views across the valley. One photo gives an example of the views.
