Trip Report
Burroughs Mountain — Friday, Jul. 26, 2013
Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River
The elk flies seemed fewer today, perhaps because we killed so many yesterday on our way to Berkeley Park! :)! There were 3 small snow patches on the trail to First Burroughs. Because I'm a "wimp" on snow on steep sidehills, they made me nervous, but for most they were no problem and are probably gone by now! I waited on Second Burroughs while Bob continued on to Third Burroughs. There was a herd of goats midway on the trail to Third Burroughs. We returned to Sunrise via the Sunrise Rim Trail which had a 50 yard area of snow with a well-worn boot path. Magenta paintbrush, dwarf lupine, rust-colored paintbrush, yellow daisies, and phlox were some of the flowers seen.
