We were the second car at the trailhead when we arrived around 9am on Saturday. We never saw the folks from the other car. The forecast was going to be in the 90s so we wanted to head up early. Saw nobody the entire way up and snacked on huckleberries during the upward switch-backs.
Trail is in great condition - a bit rocky and slidy at times due to the terrain. I had hiking poles and appreciated them.
The lake is beautiful and has some wonderful camping spots. A few too many random trails in various directions - stay on the main path folks!
When we were headed back we saw probably around 30 folks heading up to either Lake Margaret or Lillian. Surprising since it was getting super hot that folks didn't leave earlier.
Overall an awesome shorter hike not a long drive from Seattle with very few folks as long as you come earlyish.
