Tolmie Peak Lookout - Eunice Lake — Tuesday, Jul. 4, 2017

Mount Rainier Area > NW - Carbon River/Mowich
Arrived to trail head around 10:00 AM; it was busy but that was expected given it was a holiday. Weather was STUNNING. The road is suitable for all vehicles but it has its rough parts, having a high clearance vehicle definitely helps. Trail in great condition, some spots with snow and mud. Nothing too bad and easily passable. The views were OUTSTANDING. Not only was majestic Mt Rainier in your face, but you could also see Mt. St. Helens. On the other side, you could see Mt. Baker AND Glacier Peak. This was my first time doing this hike and others who had done it before said this was the clearest day yet. Bugs were ONLY annoying because they were buzzing everywhere. Did not get any bug bites and I didn't even use bug repellent. Also, there is no formal entrance on this side of the park entrance. Make sure you have cash to pay. Didn't see any other trip reports mentioning that, so beware!
