We snowshoed to camp Muir on March 31st, snow conditions were great! Gate opens at 9 and closes at 5:30 at longmire so you’re a bit limited on time but it’s doable, took us 4 hours up and 2.5 down. You can only glissade on the steepest sections lower down, the snow is too sticky farther up. It was a high or 44 at paradise and 22 at Muir, so wet fluffy snow. Snowshoes on all the way up, and boots all the way down. It could have been done with no snowshoes, but you’d sink about 3-6” with each step so we appreciated them on the way up. Great skiing conditions, we were very jealous of all of the skiers!
