Miller Peninsula-Thompson Spit — Sunday, May. 5, 2019

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast

We started at the trailhead off of East Sequim Bay Road, not the main trail head. Hiked the Manzanita Trail to the Bluff Trail, then looped back to Manzanita back to the car. Was about 5 miles. Trail conditions were good - there was only 1 spot that we had to hop over a downed tree. There were a lot of trail spurs that were not on the map and we actually got a little confused by it. On the first part of Manzanita, there were trail indicator posts, but no placards. Closer into the Bluff trail there started to be more signage. It was mostly shaded, some small patches of full sun. Not a whole lot to look at - a few mushrooms, saw a tree mouse, views on the western part of Bluff Trail were minimal. It would be a nice easy local nature walk, but I wouldn't come out of my way to go back.
