Sheep Lake to Sourdough Gap — Saturday, Jun. 22, 2019

Beautiful day! Arrived at the trailhead around 12:00. Bathrooms were closed at the trailhead but open a mile up the road. Trail starts to the right of the bathrooms. Go right and hike along the highway when you come to the “T” at the beginning of the trail. Trail is easy to follow. One tree down across the trail that you’ll need to climb over. A few bits of snow still lingering. Hiked to the gap and then down along the PCT into Mt. Rainier National Park. Definitely worth the extra 5-10 minute walk over to the park boundary for the fantastic views of Mount Rainier! No pups allowed in the park so we took turns enjoying the view. Made it back to the car by 4:00. We like to take our time and had a break for snacks and letting the dogs swim in Sheep Lake.
