Our group of 11 Mountaineers arrived at the old Carbon River Ranger Station around 8:30 a.m. to find no formal parking available, but there were plenty of spots along the road. I chatted with a Ranger about trail conditions and he confirmed that all bridges were in place to cross the Carbon River to Chenuis Falls. We set out along the Carbon River road-to-trail and made the climb up to Ranger Falls, then on to Green Lake for lunch. No swimming this time -- the water was super cold! We decided to extend the trip to Chenuis Falls, following the cairns marking the path along the sandbars. I'd recommend one person at a time across the log bridges -- a couple of them were "springy." All trails were in great shape, with no blowdown.
Trails for everyone, forever
