Thanks to LeZo and resilient for their excellent trip reports.
I also went CCW; took a little under 3 hours to get to the top from the trailhead. I experienced some dicey climbing up steep snow pitches on soft snow. There's also a pair of very sharp, softening, and exposed snow ridges between the two goat island mountain high points. Both can be avoided by cutting down the south slope and then retaking the ridge following those sections.
Ice axe was a must IMO. Also kicking steps into the slopes with trail runners was not the most fun; a more substantial shoe would have been advisable.
Also found a pair of brownish greyish tevas up there (size 12). Might have been dropped yesterday, might have been last year. If you recognize them, let me know and we can coordinate a reunion.

Thats so cool that you were able to see goats on this mountain. How fitting! I saw one too but it was quick to run away so I wasn't able to take any pictures.
Thanks for the trip report.
