Mount Si — Friday, Aug. 12, 2022

Snoqualmie Region
Beginning of sunset at the "top" of Mt. Si.

Something about this hike just really whups my butt. After work, a friend and I started our climb around 5 pm. We made it to the top in just under 2 hours. We still had a bit of daylight left, so we decided to scramble up to the true summit. The weather was pleasant and the sunset sublime. We stayed to watch the last rays of sunlight bathe the Seattle skyline way off in the distance. We climbed down the scramble just before dark. We made it down Si in just over an hour in the dark. Thankfully, I brought headlamps. This hike is really a knee killer and immense cardio workout — not my favorite for these reasons, but definitely good training for more intense and rewarding hikes elsewhere.

In the distance, I saw the Seattle skyline bathed in golden light.
