Puget Sound and Islands
Ducks Along the Trail

Today

Today I hiked a section of the Soos Creek trail with 5 friends from my hiking group. Over the years I have made 30+ trips on Soos Creek Tr with a former biking group as a short cut from Enumclaw to Renton. We meet at the Th off off 148th Ave SE and walked north on the horse trail to SE 208th St for a 6.5 mile out and back hike. Both TH’s had Porta Potties stocked with supplies. It was in the low 40’s with mostly cloudy skies when we started off after 10:00AM. More walkers and runners were out today rather than bikes. We had fun watching loads of ducks in wide spots along the creek marsh areas. A few towhees and house sparrows were also sighted. Overall this was a great winter walk alternative instead of driving miles to a forested hike. A fantastic day to be out in nature with friends.
