Trip Report

Lord Hill Regional Park — Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Hiked in from the south parking lot going clockwise along most of the perimeter trails. Lots of soggy spots when off of the Main Trail or the Pipeline but nothing really deep.

Overall I was surprised by how little impact the windstorm of the previous day had on the trail. Just small branches and a few easy cuts with one exception - along the east side of Beaver Lake there is a large conifer that snapped and landed lengthwise in the trail. Its a big mess as it landed in a brushy zone and has no defined bypass yet. Hopefully someone with better tools or more time reads this and takes on the project.

I was really impressed with some obvious signs of love by the locals - custom cinder block culverts, paving stones through the mud, very little trash etc. With no leaves on the salmon berries, lots of good views and a decent showing of mushrooms.
