My first time hiking on these trails, even though I live in the region. It was a good intro for hike-a-thon 2018. There are many trails/routes to choose from with various degrees of difficulty. I was glad I had printed out the park map and trail descriptions. Very helpful when you miss the turn you meant to take! We parked at the east gate and ascended mostly on La-Z-Boy and Huff-N-Puff, with a few digressions on the way. Somehow, we got on Sidewinder--its switchbacks so gentle, you hardly know you are going uphill. We enjoyed the viewpoints, including that amazing one hanging out over the cliff. We went down via Ginny's Trail and Bonnie & Clyde's, getting to see the rusted truck. These are excellent trails and not strenuous at all. (Avoided those.) Plus, my hiking buddy found a twenty dollar bill on the trail! She donated it to my hike-a-thon fundraising goal.

My husband and I are new to this area, but not new to hiking. We are seniors who enjoy getting out for exercise and viewing nature ‘s beauty. We picked this hike because of its location to our home on Camano Island. We looked at the map at the kiosk in the parking area to plan our hike.  In spite of confusion as to which trail we were on, we had a lovely hike and the day was beautiful. I think next time we will print out a trail map, or find it on-line. We also found an unexpected over look to the north where we met some other friendly hikers who took our picture!

This backyard paradise is always a refreshing retreat. Some new trails are also being built and the trails are, as always, very well maintained. And with many zigzagging and intersecting trails, every hike is like a new experience!

I did see a warning notice about aggressive bobcats and for people to keep their dogs leashed so that is a bit scary. But not a deterrent for me as this park is just too great for hiking, biking, running and dog walking.

My toddler and I did the Ridge trail this time. It is a very short trail that comes up behind the cell phone tower to the viewpoint.    No obstacles on the trail although it is a bit steep or you may have exposed roots to navigate. Just be careful on these parts if take younger children. We took the road back down. Beautiful day.
