I found this park on Google Earth and decided to check it out. It is actually a city park but I believe that it is outside the city limits of Mount Vernon. Its part of The Mount Vernon Parks Foundation. It consist of about 500 acres of which is almost all of Little Mountain. It has about 10 miles of trails for both hikers and Mountain Bikers. I hike about 7 miles of it today. Trails are in great shape except for Taylor's Trail which needs lots of work. Its overgrown and the trail sign is missing from the southeast end of the trail so I missed the cutoff and had to double back. You can find a nice map of this park attached to the park signs in the park or go to "LittleMountainPark.org". These is some nice trails for mountain bikes. There are two views points at the top. One looks north toward Mount Vernon and the other Southwest toward Skagit Valley Farm Land. You will here the sound of I-5 on the west side and the city of Mount Vernon on the north side trails but most of the noise is gone on the east and south side trails. You definitely feel like you are out in the wilderness. Come check it out. The top of the mountain has parking and picnic benches if you want to make a family outing of it. Checkout the videos of this hike on my you tube channel at "lmm3181" or over 350 other hikes I have done in Washington State or click on the direct links below. As always get out and see this beautiful state! Take Care, Mike

There seems to be a lack of authority on these trails/ parking lot. We ran into some kids smoking weed, along with some other sketchy activities ( mind you we had our 6 & 4 year old with us )on the trails. Other then that, the trails are in good conditions, views from look outs are wonderful. Saw quite a few people on the trails and at the top of the mountain. All in all okay, but would recommend going during the day in a group(s).

Ran the Bonnie and Clyde Trail from top to bottom and up again. Very nice single track with a few mountain bikers on the way. All trails are fit for 15K training.

Please consider supporting me on my Hike-A-Thon. Thank you. https://www.gifttool.com/athon/MyFundraisingPage?ID=1468&AID=3052&PID=519885 This hike is in Mount Vernon, not Bellingham. Just a quick hike with our old Lab Maggie. It was just a short walk to get her out on the trails to enjoy what will probably be her last walk in the woods. :-( We walked the Nature trail, crossed the bridge, up the hill a little bit. We rested on benches along the way and I bribed her with cheese and treats. There are informational signs along the way. Little Mountain has about 9 miles of trails for all abilities. There are two viewpoints, North and South. Bring water as there is none available. Some trails are open to mountain bikes. The trails are well marked, but snap a photo of the maps so you don't get turned around. There are a few access points and you want to make sure you get back to your car without hiking a bunch of extra miles!
