Beautiful hike at Ebey's Bluff. Lots of wildflowers in bloom and more to come soon!

Wildflowers are the best I've seen here. It is an easy trail with a 1 mile trail over to a pioneer cemetery, two block houses, and views of Ebey's Prairie. Along the bluff trail there are Douglas-fir that are contorted by wind and salt air, views down on the Lagoon, flowers and views of Ebey's Prairie.

Mother's Day in my house means two things. 1. Breakfast in bed. 2. Whatever mom wants, mom gets. Fortunately I'm the mom and I got exactly what I wanted. French toast in bed and my favorite, sunset hike with the family at Ebey's Landing. The mountains were hiding behind clouds but the water was still beautiful and there's so much to see. Fragrant pink roses and lots of other flowers line the trail. Tall grass blowing in the wind. Seagulls and bald eagles. We watched a huge cruise ship and a submarine with its escort ships work their way out to sea. We had our dinner at the end of the trail then worked out way back as the sun started to set. The kids and dogs ran ahead, waiting at the top of each little hill. Each time saying, 'I thought you said this trail was flat'. Flat is boring, this trail is not! I was able to try out my new camera. So many beautiful sights. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to download the pics yet so I'll just share my phone pics.

Classic loop at Ebey's Landing - easily one of the best dayhikes in the northwest. Mt. Rainier was peaking through to the south and we had a front row seat to the Olympics. Eagles passed overhead and we had a brief staring contest with a curious seal. One of my favorite hikes.

Today was a gorgeous day for this hike, it was perfectly sunny and you could see the mountains all around. The trail is narrow in spots but in great shape, and be sure you follow the directions in the trail description to take full advantage of this area. We encountered a lot of people on this hike but that was to be expected. A nice, easy hike for a beautiful day!
