Mother's Day in my house means two things.
1. Breakfast in bed.
2. Whatever mom wants, mom gets.
Fortunately I'm the mom and I got exactly what I wanted. French toast in bed and my favorite, sunset hike with the family at Ebey's Landing.
The mountains were hiding behind clouds but the water was still beautiful and there's so much to see. Fragrant pink roses and lots of other flowers line the trail. Tall grass blowing in the wind. Seagulls and bald eagles. We watched a huge cruise ship and a submarine with its escort ships work their way out to sea.
We had our dinner at the end of the trail then worked out way back as the sun started to set. The kids and dogs ran ahead, waiting at the top of each little hill. Each time saying, 'I thought you said this trail was flat'. Flat is boring, this trail is not!
I was able to try out my new camera. So many beautiful sights. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to download the pics yet so I'll just share my phone pics.
