Absolutely heinous black flies on an otherwise nice sunny, windless late-am hike. They must be confused by the low-snow winter and rainy summer. We turned back after an hour of being bitten by thick swarms through t-shirts and DEET. The intrepid (bumpy!) hikers descending from the summit assured us the bugs never got better higher. Save this one for later!
