I couldn't tell if we were going to end up on that ridge on the other side of the lake at the beginning of the hike, but we sure did. It was a great view from both sides!

4 mile hike through forest to a little lake that the locals like to cliff jump into.
It was blind hike in the fog. I was once close to Snow Lake but didn't notice any of its beauty. On my way back from Gem Lake, the fog mysteriously disappeared and the view struck me so suddenly that I couldn't even hold my camera.

Rewarded with beautiful views of the mountains at the highest point along the trail.
this photo was taken after a storm from a boat in Crane Prairie Lake in Oregon Territory. The trail along the lake shore is full of clefts and bays with little clear water tributaries entering the lake. Every bird and animal can be seen here as the lake is full of fish and flora providing food for eagles and peregrines to name a couple!

Falling asleep to the sound of talkative owls and waking up to this view made braving the swarms of mosquitoes totally worth it.
