The many varied hues of the Quinault Rainforest.
Fall color beginning to turn hues, subtle color shifts beautiful to observe. Gentle waterfall running throughout.
This image looks northwest from the Cascade Pass trail. It was a subtle lighting that was intriguing compared to the usual dramatic light of the open exposures found once you get above the forest.
The amazing view looking east from Artist Ridge to Huntoon Point.
A misty day on the mountain causes you to take a closer look at what's in front of you!

It is difficult to understand the amount of beauty at Schmitz until you've explored it yourself! The varieties of both flora and fauna continue to amaze. This is our nearest neighborhood park, as we live in WS. What a super bonus!
this photo was taken after a storm from a boat in Crane Prairie Lake in Oregon Territory. The trail along the lake shore is full of clefts and bays with little clear water tributaries entering the lake. Every bird and animal can be seen here as the lake is full of fish and flora providing food for eagles and peregrines to name a couple!
I finally found out what this was after sleuthing around in my plant books. Gnome plant (Hemitomes congestum), apparently a fairly rare saprophytic found in dense forests. The description fit perfectly, and we found a later stage of development down the trail aways.
Macro shot of alpine flowers with Olympic range in background.
these scenes abound while hiking some of the perimeter of Davis Lake on the trail of the same name
We had lunch here with this great view, pondering life! :)
Colors and reflections are pretty spectacular, at Goat Lake
Was cool and a little rainy, perfect day to see the Lake and capture some great pics!!
A beautiful little glen on the Hummocks Trail at Mount St. Helens. What you can't experience in the photo is the delightful sound of babbling water wandering down thin stream channels.
