This sweeping view on the way to Lake Serene reminded me of the Smoky Mountains in the East but instead are of the Stevens Pass area of the Central Cascades.

Log bridge

This log must have been 50ft long and several feet wide and serving the rest of its life as a bridge above the ferns and shrubs of the forest. I felt safe and secure on this wonderful natural beauty created by nature and the wonderful work party crews that keep our trails safe and secure.

The sun was casting shadows on the pinnacles across the lake on Lake Serene and it made the most aw-inspiring shadows that it felt like God was shining down on the lake.
