A Spring in Their Step

Ascending the Ira Spring Trail on the way to Little Bandera, two hikers enjoy stunning peek-a-boo views of McClellan Butte, Mount Kent, and Mount Gardner on the other side of the South Fork Snoqualmie River valley.

Silver Star Sunset

My friends and I have been eager to get up to Silver Star ever since the snow melted. We made it up the other day just in time for the sunset. The view from the top is never disappointing, offering fantastic views of Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Ranier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood. Also impressive is the wide variety of wild flowers to be found on the trail all summer long!

Little Fish Rescue!

Baby sculpin off of Cape Alava. He/she was found flopping out of the water at low tide, and was returned to the water after the photo op!

Washington Park

One of the best places for watching sunsets in Washington.

Vandalism on Navaho Peak

That's a 4" dia. whitebark pine above 7000' on Navaho summit, a very old tree, cut this winter. There were others. Note top lying on snow behind ice ax. Who does this? Keep an eye out, and report it.
