Highway from trailhead to lake in great shape.

only two cars at trailhead when we arrived met one of those parties headed out as we went in.

For a Friday not too much foot traffic though many had dogs.

12+/- cars at trailhead on return.

We hiked in on Thursday around noon and hiked out Saturday morning and had beautiful, sunny weather all three days. As far as we could tell, there was only one other person at the Lena Lake campground on Thursday night and maybe two other parties on Friday night. We did try a day hike to Upper Lena Lake and there was too much snow to get more than about a mile and half up the trail. We saw osprey, jays, ducks and juncos but not much other wildlife. And thankfully few bugs! It was super cold at night - we basically hid in our sleeping bags once the sun went down.

Please note: the main bathrooms are closed but if you go a little farther up the trail there are pink trail markers and signs for "toilet" that bring you to two open air toilet seats. Beats digging a hole! The signs at the closed bathrooms don't mention them - we found them by accident.

Beautiful sunny day for a hike. Only a handful of cars at the trailhead when we started. Bathrooms in good shape. Trail in good shape - no snow & only a few wet spots. Trillium, fawn lilies, violets, and bleeding heart were all in bloom within the first quarter mile or so. There were a couple of groups heading down as we headed up to the lake. Had the lake to ourselves for a short time and passed several groups heading up on our way down.

Arrived at the trailhead around 7:45am and found the parking lot was about 1/3 full. There is a bathroom at the trailhead but completely out of toilet paper and garbages were overflowing. The trail was as described for the most part. We did have to traverse over a few down trees but nothing technical. The bridges along the way were a fun surprise along the way. When we reached the viewpoint we were the only party there and got to enjoy it to ourselves for about 25 minutes. On the way down we ran into many more parties who were on their way up. By the time we reached the trailhead again the parking lot was beyond full. Lovely hike on a lovely Saturday! Glad to check this one off the list!
