Cowen and Ravenna Parks form a contiguous urban nature area and green space, containing Ravenna Ravine and Ravenna Creek, in the middle of North Seattle. The trails that traverse the parks form a nice pathway to spend a day off. I parked at the corner of Brooklyn Ave and 61st street, at the SW corner of Cowen Park. I traversed the ravine, passing under the 15th Ave NE and 20th Ave NE arch bridges. I explored the ballfield and playground at the SE corner of Ravenna Park, then turned back. Sparrows, finches, crows, and seagulls played in the park. Buds were starting to form on some of the brush, and daffodils were just starting to bloom. The trails are in good condition, and the babbling of Ravenna Creek is never very far away.
