i hiked this trail with my grown kids and grandkids ages 5,5,5,and 4 we had a blast the suspension bridge was very exciting for all, the waters were crystal clear and very cold but fun to throw rocks in. only thing i can suggest is to make sure to bring 25$ or a national park pass to get into the park. the trailhead is 2 minutes inside the park entrance so if you want to park on the road and walk in its an easy two minute walk. there are also many options for photo opps if your into photography. Enjoy

Nice short little walk in the woods near the east entrance of the park. Lots to see in a short distance, river, suspension bridge, boardwalk and very impressive trees. Unfortunately my son wasn't being very cooperative so didn't get to enjoy it as I would have liked, but cool to see all the interesting trees. Lots of good photo ops. Surprisingly had flush toilets, bathroom was decent, even had a baby changing station which is a rare find in a park bathroom. Several picnic tables right next to the parking lot. A bluejay and raven were hanging out there, probably hoping to score a snack.

This was a nice easy hike. I did this trail Sunday morning before driving out of Mount Rainier park (😭). The loop portion of this trail is kept in excellent condition with most of it a wooden board walk. The trees are stunning and great for several unique photo opportunities. The trail starts on a dirt path with several trail signs to learn about the forrest and the types of trees found in it. Then there is a narrow suspended bridge to cross. A sign reads "recommend one person at a time" but you can safely cross with more than one if you like, it just makes the bridge slightly wobbly which can be scary for some people. After you cross the bridge there is a creek with clear water several kids were playing in. And then the loop begins. I appreciated that so many people of different fitness abilities were on this trail, including a woman with a walker. While I don't normally do trails this short, this one is definitely worth it.

Thanks to the smoke blocking the view at Hurricane Ridge, we decided to hike around Mt. Rainier and hit up Grove of the Patriarchs. This was a fun little trail and we loved seeing the crystal clear water and walking the bridge over the river. It's a good hike for anyone and the boardwalk allows you to get close to some of these giant trees.
