Great little hike for my three year old. She held a hand across the suspension bridge and hiked the entire loop herself. The trees were impressive, and although parking was at a premium on a Saturday mid morning, we found a spot in the small lot. The trail was crowded, but still enjoyable. Easy to find, easy to follow, safe for toddlers.

Stevens Canyon Road is open so you can access this trail from any direction. And what a fun, pleasant, short trail this is to stretch your legs and admire magnificent trees and rivers.
The trail was surprisingly dry despite the heavy showers occurring throughout the day. Despite the crowds, everyone was patient as we alternated, one-by-one, across the suspension bridge. Take the time to admire the flowers starting to bloom, as well as the massive trees above. The river is so clear and inviting, but obviously very cold this time of year.
Looking forward to getting back here in the fall when mushrooms seem to pop up around every corner!

We hiked this trail on a beautifully sunny Memorial Day. The weather was warm, but the shade of the forest made it very comfortable. It was the perfect length and interest level for our 2 1/2 and 5 1/2 year old boys.
Steven's Canyon Road is now open if you desire to continue on to Paradise or access the trailhead from that direction.

This is a quick and beautiful short trail passing near a beautiful river flowing with snow melt water. Huge 1000 years old trees and beautiful forest.
The kids also enjoyed crossing the river on a (well maintained) hang bridge.
Note that Stevens Canyon Road is blocked west of the trail. We were planning driving from Paradise to this trail which still isn't possible. We had to use the east entrance (using SR 123). Check road conditions in the Mount Rainier site when planning your drive.
