This is a dog-friendly trail. More than half the hikers I saw had a canine companion. 90% were leashed :)
IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS, CONSIDER ANOTHER TRAIL. I saw a handful of hikers visibly shirk away from every single dog that passed them. Also to the lady that yelled “my dog isn’t friendly!” as we approached to pass in the opposite direction, maybe choose a trail with fewer other dogs?
This is one of my favorite quick local hikes and I like that it’s not purely up and then purely down, there are little ups and downs throughout the trail.
Fun to watch the climbers in the boulder loop.
I had to park at the SVT around the corner (adds 10m each way) as all parking lots were full. Arrived 11a on a Saturday. My roundtrip time was 2:25 and distance 5.5. Walking with a senior dog who wanted to mark practically every fern.
Couple trees down I had to high leg over but no biggie.
Love and recommend this trail!

Very busy and beautiful trail, impressively gorgeous rocks. Many places to sit, rest, and enjoy the views! Hikers keep alert for trail runners on this one.
We arrived just before 9 AM and parked in the overflow lot, expected as this is one of the nicest weather weekends of 2026!

Trail is in typically great shape but there are two spots (near and near-ish) the summit where last week’s wind brought down some trees over the trail— WTA sawyers needed. Not terribly difficult to climb over but definitely obstacles. Did the Boulder Garden Loop clockwise on the return hike—respectable leg burner climbing up!

Left the trailhead at 7:15, and only one car in the lot. It was getting light out, but still kind of dark early in the hike. I didn't see any hikers on the way up. Made it to the top just on one hour. I just kept a good steady pace. I stopped for 3 geocache on the way down, and saw several hikers. Back at my car in about 2 hours, and lots of cars in the lot. Another hike checked off in my book. I had done Mt Si several times over the years, but had never done Little Si.
