Beware of: trail conditions

Ran up to Little Si this morning and wanted to mention this because I have not seen it mentioned previously. Past the Doug Hansen Memorial Bench and before you get to the left turn to start the climb up to the top of Little Si there is a good sized rock/mud/debris slide that has come down from Mt Si and covered about 20-25 yards of the Little Si trail. There is a boot path thru the debris but it's still interesting and somewhat surprising to see a slide of this type on Little Si. Other than that the trail is in good shape. Start early on a sunny weekend. I was up there at 8:00 AM and the main lot was half full. When I returned to my truck at 9:30 the main lot was full and I took a glance at the overflow lot on my way out and it appeared over 1/2 full. Lots of people out enjoying another sunny late summer morning. See you on the trail. SR

Arrived at 7am on a Saturday and we were only the third car in the parking lot. Completed the hike no problem with my 7 year old son. Views were exciting for him. :) Took about 1 hour 35 mins on the way up and 1 hour 15 mins on the way down. There is one confusing area about halfway up where there is a clearing of trees. Stay to the left and follow the trail as it winds back up to the right. It's a little difficult to see which way to go, but look for footprints in the loose dirt. There's also a nice bench near the fork for the mountain climbers where you can sit to take a rest, eat a snack, etc. Great hike!

Great hike, very similar to Rattlesnake. We arrived on a Monday at 11am and had no trouble finding parking. We had our dog and 6 year old son. We all enjoyed it. About 4 other dogs at the top but, they were all too tired to play. I can imagine this hike is probably very crowded on the weekends.
