Started up this trail at around 9:00am. There were a ready a few families (with children and pets) coming down when I started hiking. The trail is very well laid out, fairly dry with the exception of a few muddy areas. Overall, this was a simple and enjoyable hike with a great view. I would suggest hiking early because there is very limited parking. When I left the trail at 11:15am, both lots were full and there were a few people waiting for parking spots.

We hiked this with a group of people with a variety of abilities and I carried my 30 pound son in a backpack. It was tough on the rocks at times with the backpack, but I still made it. We started at about 4:30 pm and hiked up and stayed a short time at the top, then back down to the car by 7:30 - it took about 45 min to come down. There were a handful of climbers on the rocks and many small groups of people on the trail. There are great views from the top and the rock and fern area on the way there is beautiful.

Hiked Little Si catching the Boulder Garden Loop on the way up. Total combined mileage is a little over 6, and a bit under 2000 vertical. Less than a dozen cars in the main lot at quarter to 8 - both lots overflowing by the time we got back down at quarter to 11. Don't forget your Discovery Pass. I recommend doing the Boulder Garden Loop counter clock wise starting at the first Y off to the right - going up is a bit easier that way and the views are better. Don't miss the dozens of huge boulders that have come off Si and several large shear cliffs. One final point of interest is the 'cut' at the very top - it shields all other sound out and is completely silent - really cool. Little Si was amazingly uncrowded for Memorial Day weekend - had the top to ourselves. Mr. Raven was happily >grok, groking< and flying big circles just east of the summit. One extra kudo here as well - only two of the dozens of groups with dogs had them off leash - very much appreciated.

It was a nice sunny morning to get an early start on this popular hike! Trail is muddy in places, as it usually is, but otherwise in good shape. Views were great. I've been hiking lots of trails with super smooth tread lately, so this was a good short re-intro to rocks and roots. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by a group with an unleashed and uncontrolled dog. The dog was very friendly but the group was slow and the dog was constantly bounding at full speed up and down the trail, out of sight of the owners. It was understandably very excited to be out there, and it almost knocked me off balance once while I was stepping up some rocks. When I told the group that their dog was underfoot and distracting, they didn't leash it. Way to selfishly impact others' trail experience. This was not the only unleashed dog we encountered, but others seemed to be keeping their dogs in sight and under control. We did see many other responsible pet owners who had leashed their pups, thanks, you rule! I love sharing the trail with dogs, I just don't want to be knocked over by them!
