Got to the trail around 7am. Parking lot 1/4 full so not bad. 4 miles to reach the lunch spot. BRING WATER. Lots of up up up up up and tons of people we passed didn’t even have a water bottle. Even in the morning we worked up a pretty intense sweat, so come prepared. Another mile round trip from the lunch spot to the summit of the haystack, they call it a scramble but it is a CLIMB. Very steep, lots of very careful hand and footwork to reach the top. Many people turned back because they felt uncomfortable. Think climbing walls at a climbing gym but at a slight tilt. And I mean slight. 9 miles total, about 6 hours.

Started up from the Teneriffe trailhead at 9:15. Took the Kamikaze trail up to the summit of Teneriffe then the linkup over to Si. Scrambled the Haystack and took the new Si trail down to the upper Talus Loop trail and back down the new Teneriffe trail to the parking lot. Weather was great and not a lot of people out. Kamikaze is getting pretty eroded in the spots right near the falls. The scramble on Si was fun, but there was an obvious handhold about 1/3 of the way up that was loose so be careful.
