We started off our hike with only one other car at the trail head. We encountered them at the check in check out station-ended up having the whole trail to ourselves. Perfect trail for anyone of any experience level great views at the falls. Seemed to have a lot more water at the falls than previous years at this time. When you crest the hill and get the full view of the falls it's breathtaking. Trail was in good condition only a little mud on the sides of trail. Need to get more check in sheets at the trail head though. Lots of people visiting! Would do this hike again and again and again!!!

Wife and I wanted to do a short hike to go along with Merrymere that we had done earlier in the day. We wanted to do Murhut Falls down by Duckabush River. The road up from Hwy 101 was in good shape. The trail though not particulary scenic was just peaceful and very tranquil. the short trail starts off with a steady medium climb and then flattens. They're some drop offs so not sure I would bring younger children on this trail. Depends on the kids of course. When we reached the falls it was amazing. One of our favorites that we have come across. I would recommend this for a short hike if you are on the east side of the Olympics not far from Quilcene area.

Great hike for kids. We enjoyed the two babbling streams and the incredible falls. FIrst time for us, so I don't have any prior Murhut Falls experience with which to compare it, but the falls were gigantic and loud and very cool! It was a Friday, and we encountered only one other party on the way to the falls, and one on the way back.

Great hike with our kids but wound up leaving our dog in the car because of the crowd. Lots of people on the trail today but I think due to holiday. Will definitely try it again when it isn't a day off for many folks.

It took us about an hour from Chimacum to get to the trail head. The road to the trail head was pretty maintained with a few potholes. There were also a couple of blow downs from the last storm that were hard to get around on our way up. But we talked to a gentleman we met on our way back on the trail and he said he used his chains to open up the road a little more for everyone. So on our way back it was pretty easy going until we noticed there has been a new mudslide that just had happened over the main road (Duckabush Road). There were fire and rescue vehicles taking care of the situation though. It is amazing how much it covered the road in a matter of seconds. Back to the trail. It was wonderful. There was water all over but none that affected the trail. The waterfall was raging. You could definitely tell that it had been raining a lot this past week. We didn't have any problems with rain. It only sprinkled a few showers but we even had some sun breaks. It was a perfect day on the trail.
