Partner and I hiked with another couple and their 3 and 7 year old children. There's a mild incline a good chunk of the way up, but kids did well, and waterfall was beautiful. One friend swam in one of the lower falls, tons of ripe wild berries and overall was a high ROI hike and suitable for small kids or those with ricketier knees. Would definitely go again.
Easy nature walk, although a little steep for strollers if you’re looking to bring young children. Couple of narrow spots with steep sudden drop offs. Side trail down to the base of the waterfall involves stepping boulder to boulder and watching out for slippery rocks, but is well worth the different perspective of the falls. Low payout, high reward!
Decided to shoot over to this trailhead after spending part of our afternoon hiking the Steam Donkey Trail over in the Dosewallips valley — a great way to end an afternoon of hiking out on the peninsula.
The road to the trailhead is fine for all cars, but drivers be aware of potholes if, like us, you get distracted by herds of elk or baby fawns gamboling along the roadside.
The trail itself is pretty nice, though I think the viewpoint at the falls needs a little WTA TLC, perhaps in the form of railings and a firming up of the shoulder, which is prematurely eroding from overeager photographers or those making their way to the waterfall pool.

Getting there- it’s all fun and games until you pass the interrorem trail. Lots and lots of pot holes but honestly as long as you go slow the average car can do it. No issues with clearance. Of course we saw a Prius at the TH so you know it’s safe.
There really isn’t signage marking the trailhead but there were cars there and a side lot. Additional parking is about 100 ft down the road.
Bathroom- that’s a nope #kulastrong
The waterfall was amazing! Make sure to keep going up once you hit the turn off for the bottom of the fall. There are some incredible views of the falls. Some winding back and forth with elevation but otherwise a good trail with an awesome payoff.
