Trail was passable, but extremely steep at one point. Use extreme caution when going up/coming down. Probably not a good trail to take children on. Amazing views from the top!

Trail is in excellent condition. Be cautious about the first quarter mile of the hike as it involves scrambling. Wear proper hiking shoes, and even then sands on the trail can be slippery. Saw lots of deers and no rattlesnakes. Look after kids and dogs if they are in your group and stay clear of cliffs.

I try to do this hike every year. And every year I’m reminded that it’s one of the best day hikes in the state. The first 15-20 minutes are a bit tough and involve a scree rock scramble in places (harder coming down) but otherwise this is an easy mesa top hike. Stunning views, especially to the north over an archipelago of islands in Banks Lake, and a wild deer herd that walks down to the lake around dusk for water. Hike the full loop as most people stop at the north view. If you do you will have the trail to yourself.

The trail was gorgeous today. Dry and clear. Beautiful views of still ice covered lake below. Saw 19 deer grazing. Buttercups are the only flower up so far.

Great hike, trail clear most of the way but snow as you reach the top. Its fine going up but on the way down it was slippery. When we started it was early morning no one on trail. Saw 5 different groups on the way down.
