What a great hike! The views of Rainier are huge and in-your-face, and they start on the drive in miles before you even reach the trailhead.

For the roads, the last 15 miles of the drive are on forest service roads. They are in great condition, and any sedan could make the drive. That being said, they are still forest service roads, and a high clearance vehicle will make it much more comfortable.

We arrived at the trailhead at 5:50pm and started at 6. The trail is in great shape! You immediately descend from the trailhead with Mowich Lake to your right, and spend the first mile or so going down before you head up. While WTA says 7.5 miles, according to trailhead signage the round trip is only 5.6 miles, which felt accurate although we weren't measuring. Once you reach Eunice lake some intermittent snow patches are present. They were quite slushy with such a late start but still easy to cross with just boots and poles (could easily be done without poles as well). Lots of mud in these areas as well. No bugs at the time we were there, which was nice.
From Eunice Lake you can see the lookout tower high up on the ridge on the opposite side of the lake, but it looks farther than it actually is. It is just a short mile from the lake to the lookout, with only a few switchbacks and very manageable elevation. Was extremely surprised at how quick and easy it was! At a moderate pace we made it from trailhead to the lookout in 90 minutes, even with a prolonged pee break thrown in there.

From the lookout, there is an amazing little ridgeline traverse you can continue down for a little ways. I am a sucker for ridgelines, so this was my favorite part. Standing in one spot we could see Glacier Peak, Baker, and the entire Olympic range to one side, and Rainier/St Helens to the other, all with a beautiful blanket of clouds surrounding them. Many wildflowers starting to bloom. It was stunning!

We stayed up there for sunset and hiked down in the dark with our headlamps, still easy to navigate without an issue. Will definitely be doing this one again!

We arrived at Tolmie Peak trail head at about 10 AM and there were approximately 15 cars already there. The road and trail are in great shape. There is still quite a bit of snow around the lake but the trail was pretty easy to follow. it was pretty crowded on the way up and a couple of large groups were taking up most of the space and the fire lookout but still a great hike.

Woke up early and made our way down from mill creek. Weather was supposed to be nice but we got worried once we hit some rain in auburn. The drive up was long and dusty and we were driving in the clouds so we had to take it slow. Got to the TH at about 915 to about 15 cars and took off. St this point the skies completely opened up and it was nothing but blue skies! Felt like we were rewarded for sticking with plan. Beautifully paved trail suitable for anyone wanting to enjoy the outdoors. Once you get to Eunice lake basin the snow starts but it is easy to follow and requires no special gear. Once out of the snow patches you start the long gradual switchbacks up to the lookout. Although it can seem steep, you are stopped by incredible views of the lake and Mt Rainier. Really keeps your mind off the climb. We got to the top in about 1 hour and 10 minutes and explored some of the ridge past the lookout. Absolutely incredible views in every direction. There were only a handful of people when were up at the top but on the way down there was a steady stream of people. If you want to avoid the crowds I would suggest starting early. All in all a fantastic day. Would definitely recommend! Also, don't forget cash as there is not a manned station to take your national park fee!

Drove down to hike with my mom early this morning. Left at 5:30 and arrived at TH at about 7:30 and were the 3rd car in the Mowich Lake parking area. Saw a few people on the way up but it got crowded fast as we headed down, even on a weekday. Trail was easy for me, but my mom- who is not as is shape- definitely needed breaks when it got steep. A couple spots were pretty wet and still a bit of snow, but nothing unmanageable and didn't need spikes/poles/etc. Great views from the top and would definitely hike it again!
