I realized today while out hiking Mt. Rose that I never shared a photo of another great tattoo that my best friend @luckysix51 designed and carried out for me. While I wouldn't suggest getting a tattoo on St. Paddy's weekend after a long night of partying, I would suggest going to @bigbeartattoo and having Bobby work his magic. He's doing what he truly loves and it shows in his pieces. I'm honored to not only have his designs inked on me till the end of days but also to call him a friend and say I knew him when. As far as the tattoo goes, I told him I wanted a Lodgepole pine. Like other pine varieties, in order for the seeds to propagate, the cones have to undergo the intense heat of a forest fire. The Lodgepole is also one of the few species that can grow in infertile soil. I felt this was expressive of my move to the Northwest and it just looked damn cool. And who knows, maybe I'll decorate it for Christmas. #northtonorthwest #wtamagazine #washingtontrails
