Beautiful hike. Arrived at the trailhead around 10:30 am and the lot was full, but there was plenty of parking at the nearby Hemple Creek picnic area. A few scattered spots left in both lots around 3:30 pm. You can see how your feet would get pretty wet on this hike earlier in the season, but by now the rivulets crossing the trail are basically just seeps. Lake water was perfect for swimming on a warm, sunny day. Definitely recommend adding on the trail around the lake. Poles are good for this hike too. Such a lovely spot.

This was my first time on this trail. It was filled with fairly steep switchbacks, many of which contained shale rocks. Over all, it seems to be kept up well, in good condition. There were several places where it was obvious there was some work being done on fallen trees but everything was off to the side & passable. Reaching the lake, the work was worth the effort as the view was incredible!

Haven’t hiked all summer so this felt like a good hike to see how I’d do. Thank you WTA for the extensive hard work on this trail, amazing. Found one remaining parking spot, arrived at 9:30.
Unfortunately, I saw a few dog poop bags left behind, a wet pile of used TP off trail, and a wad of chewed gum on a tree branch. Please help keep the trash in the trashcan not on the trail.

Got there at 9:50 on a Saturday, parking was full but the campground a little ways down the road (right out of the parking lot and then first left) had plenty of spaces. Trail itself was amazing, a wet and slippery in places but all trees on the trail have been cleared. The lake was great to swim in on a hot day.
