Why are you interested in WTA's Youth Ambassador Program?

How will your participation in the program support your personal, professional and/or academic goals?

Each year, Youth Ambassadors utilize their individual skills and interests to design their own projects using the following themes as guidelines. Which of these themes excites you most?

Exploration: WTA is committed to reducing barriers that stand in the way of young people being explorers of Washington’s wild places. Example projects include creating hiking clubs, organizing guided hikes for kids, writing a blog or magazine article and submitting trip reports.
Stewardship: A core belief of the WTA community is that hikers can make a difference if they give back to the places and trails they love. Example projects include coordinating trail work parties, supporting logistics, shadowing crew leaders and photographing volunteers.
Championing: As youth volunteers gain experience, they seek opportunities to develop their leadership potential. Example projects include attending advocacy events, volunteering at outreach events, trailhead engagement, writing letters to elected officials and testifying at hearings or community council meetings.
