A wooden bridge through the forest at Chambers Creek Canyon Trail

Overview

Help create a unique backcountry experience in the middle of a dense urban setting!

About the Area

Chambers Creek Canyon is a forested stream corridor between Lakewood and University Place in the South Puget Sound region. The trail engulfs users in a thick native understory, tranquil stream sounds, and some of the most incredible views you'd never expect a block away from a Fred Meyers. Get the experience of far out trails without needing to drive on Forest Service roads!

What to Expect

We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference! No experience is necessary.

Project Description

We will be improving existing trail sections by widening the trail, smoothing the trail surface, or possibly installing retaining structures.

Hiking Information

Our hike for the day is expected to be about 2-4 miles roundtrip The trail is mostly boardwalk and has some steep sections of steps. The hike has some steep sections but is mostly flat.

  • 12:00 PM: Lunch on the trail
