Overview

Join us for a day of work in the Tradition Plateau area, an integral part of the Tiger Mountain trail network supporting City of Issaquah trails continued bomb cyclone clean up efforts.

About the Area

Tradition Plateau provides an extensive network of short, nearly level trails that meander by small lakes and towering trees. There are also plenty of opportunites to access Tiger Mountain's steeper grades, and to enjoy expansive views, from this area.

What to Expect

We'll have fun, work hard and make a difference!

Project Description

Our project will be to cut back down trees from the bomb cyclone that line the trail and disperse limb debris and billets from drains and trail edges. We will be working in teams of two with a B/C certified chainsaw sawyer and a swamper. Registration preference will be given to folks with A/B/C chainsaw certifications.

Hiking Information

Our hike to the project site is expected to be 3-4 miles roundtrip over steep and rolling terrain.

Schedule

  • 8:30 AM: Be ready to sign in and meet the crew, rain or shine
  • 8:35 AM: Gather for a safety briefing, then hike to the project site
  • Morning: Work at your own pace, and take breaks throughout the day
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch on the trail
  • Afternoon: Consider trying a new task before wrapping up the day's work
  • 3:30 PM: Sign out after enjoying refreshments at the trailhead

For safety reasons, arriving late or leaving early is not allowed.

Planning Information

Get ready for a great day outside!
